so i just kinda glossed over the fact that we did toronto with the roots huh? well between traveling, soundchecking, performing and running all over the place blogging it out kinda flew right by me. in a nutshell the shit was DOPE... severly ill. as you can gleen from the photos the house was PACKED and the bug shit was that they was rockin with us the whole way. even copped some merch to boot. it was definitely a good time man and i think we showed and proved...

we gotta get back up there tho for real. not only for the new nad old fans but to holler at jesse, l'oquenz, zaki, mensa, shadi, safia, claudine, nehal, shit... the whole crew man. we get held the fuck DOWN in the t.dot and its definitely appreciated. so lets link some shit up ppls... PLEASE

at anyrate im back in nyc right now and im STARVING for food and a drink. boston was dope and the good people at society original clothing and my man nu over at puma dropped by and showed BIG love. we rocked the house and hopefully ill have some pics of that soon. my mic kept shorting out but i handled it like a pro, shit at one point during the last song the whole sound rig gave out, speakers and all. what did i do? shouted it acapella at the crowd til the music came back. and didnt even lose my voice... shit was fun

keepin it all the way trill with yall man being on tour is a very demanding thing. especially when you are doing as much as we do just to stay afloat but to anybody that has opened up their doors for us to sleep, wallets for us to eat, or mouths to spread the word or sing along we dont forget. it means alot and honestly you are as crucial to this thing we got goin. id love to keep elaborating but ill save the emo bloggin for when im not supposed to be getting dressed and getting out the house.

way back in 05 when TM got their slot in XXL's show and prove section we came to nyc for the photoshoot and slid thru the magazine's offices to meet the staff and figure out how it was all gonna go down. the homie scott (aka mr suburban sprawl cover artist :) introduced us to king's EIC datwon and when we walked into his office he was coincidentally bumping the sunset ep and couldnt stop talkin about how fresh it was. i still remember that shit like yesterday for real. when a tastemaker says they like your work, you dont forget that shit, ever.

fast forward to a feb 2008 and now in addition to his post at King he has assumed the same role at XXL... HUGE! and even crazier is this quote from a press release that came across my email.

UPDATE: after watching D MAWL on rap city. i was dead on, it was a KFC contest and you had to submit songs using those keywords i speculated and he won. part of his prize was appearing on rap city. fam... this may be a bigger L for BET than KFC

i dont even know how to start this blog off man, for real. My neice had her baby so first off i would like to welcome Caiden Alissa (i dont even know if i spelled that right) into the world. My family just got larger by one and i now have another little girl to be overprotective about. im a great uncle now, but like i told my sister "great uncle makes it sound like im doin a good job, grandma just makes you sound old" lol. i still havent seen a photo but i think ill be back in ohio sooner than anybody thinks so ill take my own pictures.

in other news tanya morgan won best music video at the Ohio Hip Hop Awards this past weekend. We were nominated for three and while i was hoping for a clean sweep, one is better than nothing right? Again, i dont even know what the physical award looks like, maybe ill get to see it someday. ilyas showed up on our behalf because in typicaly tanya morgan fashion the entire group couldnt make it to the show. you know whats wack about being in this group? is that we cant all make it to everything. and its been like that since the groups inception. maybe one day when we find a home with a promotional budget and plan we can rectify that but for now it just looks like tanya morgan is any random grouping of guys that include don, von or ilyas. *sigh* he said the ceremony was nice and he made a few dope connects.

we are still in the running for the xm contest, i mean honestly that picture and link is gonna be all you see on my page when i dont have a picture to post. if i had a photo of caiden or the OHHA trophy idda slapped it up there and let my banner do all the work but yeah, thats all you gettin until i get to vegas, help please. we have been neck and neck with mitch gunz since the contest started, well he was beating us at first and since then me and mitch have exchanged a few inboxes. he is a cool dude man and respects what we do and id say thats mutual. i just cant wait to see him in vegas so that we can shake hands, have a drink and rock the stage. thats gonna be fun... but on some real shit, them niggas NRP got a fucking JAM in there.

so in other news the iranian president is at my gig. he is giving some lecture and they got the spot locked DOWN. i had to pull out my id to get on the campus and once i got here its all kinda flyers plastered up showing images of hanging homosexuals and other shit. like people in nyc are HEATED over this shit. i for one say let the nigga speak. you can let the KKK hold rallies and burn crosses but he cant come talk his shit? whatever man... i wanna go to his lecture just to see what all the hubub is about. this place sure has broadened my political awareness, mainly because it tends to inconvenience my immediate day, but i imagine thats miniscule in comparison to how inconvenient these topics and people have made their citizens lives. right?
