SONG A WEEK STARTS TODAY

thats write people. i have resorted to forcing myself to work, i get like this from time to time, well alot of the time. kinda blah whats the use its all futile and shit and that in turn makes me stop working and just live. be happy depressed whatever but go thru the motions and try and ignore my dream. thats dead tho... no sir donwont, you will NOT fuck this one up...

so in talkin to the homie von pea the other night about a few tm items (upcoming show, ilyas' pending move to nyc, new tanya morgan lp) we began discussing my solo material as it relates to other things i will be appearing on. as of right now for me 07 holds:

-DUBJACK (lp with me and kay of the foundation produced by the ARE)
-ILWIL's fivehundredthirteen (produced by fat jon)
-Tanya Morgan's *yettobenamed* bridge to BKLYNATI

now where does my solo fit in? (i been thinkin about this all night von, pause) well, granted i am going to throw a huge curve ball in about 6 sentences i dont know lol. but nothing i just listed as being released in 07 has a tentative release date. i mean the most consistent release date i have on my plate is the whole once a month free song give away on TM's page. aside from that nothing is definite. DubJack is largely based on what Kay gives me to work on (shits sounding AMAZING ppl) and fivehundredthirteen is languishing in limbo a bit based on the accessibility to our previously recorded material.

I have however given sketchpad a tentative date to be at least finished and that date is June 4th, my birthday. As a present to myself i am going to finish something i started, i am going to enforce a deadline and discipline myself into finishing it. Alot of times finishing a project is hard for me cus then its done. And also i get hung up on 'working' on something as opposed to finishing it. So i will finish. I dont know if it will drop in 07 anymore to be honest. I mean as a proper debut id like it to come out right so i need to find some red tape to wrap it up in. In the meantime id like to announce a third project (i know yall are like WTF?!!?! but trust me, all you guys are doing is watching me plan my career out lol)

I present to you (in theory and design) "The Homeless Shelter". A majority of the material on the homeless shelter has been heard and its literally laying around on my hard drive, homeless. When i signed up for seperate LP's by both Brick and Von, that left alot of my frequent collaborators (wale, suburb, and a few others.. but they have the bulk of material on there) kinda out in the cold and we had some dope music in the works. This is where these songs will go. The title has a whole deeper meaning that I will blog about later too. The album is virtually done aside from a proper mixdown and sequence session. I will be releasing it for free download sometime next month. It may have guest appearances but right now its lookin like it wont, simply because i am kinda just wanting to put something out. I kinda just feel like its time to get judged on my own merit real quick you know? See who's who and whats what.

so yeah maybe im shooting myself in the foot, maybe im just too confused on what to do to focus, or maybe im just talkin shit BUT im sayin it today; The Homeless Shelter coming soon, its so close to done that i actually have a tracklist...)

Also my stolen digital camera is officially dead. RIP...

june 4 (good date...)

deadlines are a good thing, it lights a fire under your ass and its a known fact that you are at your most creative when your under pressure with a time line...

and hey, it's okay to play sometimes...just don't lose your focus, right?
