i think i may have figured out what type of non rapper work would make me happy. i had an epiphany of sorts in the stockroom of this ad agency.

so they do alot of work for absolut (no free vodka) and kmart among others. blah.. but they also have a HUGE production studio, like its full service, so much so that they charge clients to produce their stuff. they dont send out to get it made. so as im rummaging thru the old design mags and boxes of promotional items they designed and thinking about my life in general it hit me.

i like moving around, you know light manual labor. tied to a desk all day can be fun and useful at times but it can also be a dreary daily 8. so moving the boxes is cool kinda. but thats not what hit me...

it was what was IN the boxes. art. commercial art, art meant to herd the sheep but art nonetheless. and not so much its actual design but the processes. the materials. the way it was put together. thats an art in itself and its slightly sculptural (depending on the object) and its not so much fine art as it is just kinda applied techniques and bending technology to your whim.

i mean yeah i can do graphic design, yeah i still can paint, yeah i still can photograph... but its not so much as the idea or the end result that fascinates me with any of those mediums (or is it medias?) its the process. its the way you execute your design, its the technique you use to lay your colors down, its the film developing process...

its the processes that fascinate me, now i have no idea how to go about getting background in those fields, and i know for a fact working at like sign/banner companies pay squat. but i think im gonna research these/this field(s) a little bit more aggressively. construction arts are really interesting to me and always have been. when i spent that year building and detailing furniture in north carolina it was like heaven to be honest. i aint get paid NEARLY enough, but the job duties themselves were just.... man it was so much fun.

maybe i should restore furniture. know how to do it.. i need a damn airbrush gun...

im babbling, but im kinda excited. ill keep you posted
