backstory: sometimes you get asked to do verses and for whatever reason the projects dont surface for years. this is one of those cases. this song was recorded around the time moonlighting was recorded but the album that it was recorded for is just now being released.

hey guys: are we acknowledging this lp yet?

i was diggin thru my old files and came across this joint. this project is so rare that I dont even have the final version (the one ive got up for download in the link below is missing the song w/ spec and noni, i just got the instrumental as a placeholder) shit i know there is cover art out there but when we abandoned the album we kinda just really abandoned it and never revisited it for real. HNZ if you readin this can i get the cover art? please?

basically we wanted to remake an entire album and decided to do this one in particular because there are no bad beats at all on it, i mean the shit is perfect as is, we just kidna wanted to give our take on it. so you are probably wondering why we abandoned it? after we put ALL the work in the WORLD into making it?

well like weeks after we finished it (shit maybe even a week) dilla passed and we didnt wanna look like we were tryna capitalize on his untimely death. i mean think about it, days after he dies an album surfaces where we are just rappin over his album, his entire album? tasteless... fucking tasteless right? we were distraught, moreso by his passing than the amount of work we put into it and although it was already floating around the net we had NO problem with abandoning it out of respect. niggas was devastated man and while we did intend for this to hit dilla's ears so that he could see how nice we all were, we didnt want to be labeled as ambulance chasers man, thats wack. we shelved it outta respect

i think the statute of limitations is up and since its still semi floating around i am going to just begin to aknowledge that it exists. its old but damn if it aint good. enjoy...
